Shehmeen Khurram is an associate lawyer at Bruder Springstead LLP. She joined the firm after her call to the Ontario Bar in 2025, following the completion of her articles at an insurance defence firm. She represents insurers, drawing on her trial and litigation experience to provide strong advocacy and achieve fair, efficient outcomes for her clients.

Shehmeen’s interest in law has been a long-standing one, beginning with her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in 2024, where she paired her studies with practical hands-on experience. At Windsor Law’s Community Legal Aid clinic (CLA), she served as a Caseworker, Student Litigator/Summer Student, and Group Leader, gaining advocacy experience representing clients in a range of legal matters before taking on responsibilities mentoring and supervising fellow students. She also completed an externship with the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights, where she refined her advocacy skills by supporting clients through housing-related legal challenges.

In her free time, Shehmeen enjoys staying active and spending quality time with her family and friends. She also has a passion for exploring foreign films and television, and a keen interest in all things beauty.
