Tonia’s practice focuses on insurance defence, in the areas of motor vehicle accident including tort claims and statutory accident benefits claims, occupier’s liability, property loss, professional negligence, subrogated claims, and insurance coverage issues. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

Tonia has extensive experience in insurance law and personal injury litigation. Prior to her call to the Bar in 2020, Tonia assisted personal injury lawyers in a boutique law firm in Toronto for over 6 years. Before she joined Bruder Springstead LLP, Tonia worked at a reputable insurance defence firm where she gained hands-on experience in insurance-related claims.

As an advocate, Tonia has put great value on listening. The more time you spend listening to the other side, the more you understand the weaknesses in their cases. Tonia is also willing to listen to her clients to understand their needs before providing high-quality services and meeting their business goals.

In her spare time, Tonia is an avid volleyball player and Tennis player.  She also enjoys playing chess and reading.
