Summer first joined Bruder Springstead in 2022 as an articling student and has returned to the firm as an associate following the completion of her articles and her call to the Bar in June 2023.

Summer received a Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor and a Juris Doctor (magna cum laude) from the University of Detroit Mercy through the Dual JD program. She was elected into membership of the Frank Murphy Honour Society for graduating in the top 10% of her program and having actively contributed to the law school through participation in extracurricular activities. Summer received various awards and scholarships throughout her time in law school including the Canadian and U.S. Dual JD program award, the Franklyn Academic Achievement Professionalism Award, the U.S. Civil Procedure Book Award and a place on the Dean’s List in each year of her studies.

While in law school, Summer was actively involved with the Windsor Chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada contributing to the Radio Project as well as working on projects in conjunction with the Faculty of Law, Career Services Office. Summer also volunteered with Community Legal Aid, Southeastern Dispute Resolution Services, and the Highschool Outreach Program in addition to her presence in numerous Windsor Law clubs.

In her spare time, Summer likes to stay active, enjoys horseback riding, attending concerts and spending time up north at her family cottage.
