Summer first joined Bruder Springstead in 2022 as an articling student and returned to the firm as an associate following the completion of her articles and her call to the Bar in June 2023. In 2025, Summer briefly served as in-house legal counsel for a major North American provider of residential and commercial services, before rejoining Bruder Springstead as an associate in January 2026.

Summer maintains a broad civil litigation practice focused on insurance defence, including motor vehicle accidents (tort claims and statutory accident benefits claims), occupiers’ liability, product liability, property damage, insurance coverage issues, subrogated claims, and professional negligence.

Summer earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor and a Juris Doctor (magna cum laude) from the University of Detroit Mercy through the Dual JD program. She graduated in the top 10% of her class and was elected to the Frank Murphy Honour Society, receiving several awards and scholarships, including the Canadian and U.S. Dual JD Program Award, the Franklyn Academic Achievement Professionalism Award, and the U.S. Civil Procedure Book Award, and was named to the Dean’s List in each year of her studies. During law school, Summer was actively involved with Pro Bono Students Canada and volunteered with Community Legal Aid, Southeastern Dispute Resolution Services, and the High School Outreach Program.

In her spare time, Summer likes to stay active, enjoys horseback riding, attending concerts, and spending time up north at her family cottage.
